You’ve got a lot on your mind – your fulltime job, your home security Fullerton system and whether or not you fed the dog – you don’t have time to run around town interviewing every nursing home within 100 miles to find the right one. Your nursing home choice should have daily, scheduled activities and you should be sure (in writing) that your parents will receive personalized attention every day. Whether it’s bingo or swimming, find out what’s available.
How Do Meals Work?
Find out if meals are served communal style where your family members can socialize or if they’re served in the patient’s rooms. It’s important to note how often meals are served and how many menu choices are offered, too.
What’s the Medical Care Like?
Different nursing homes have different levels of medical care but there should be at least one RN and an emergency tech on call at any given hour while your parents live there. Living in-house is preferable.
